Baroque Trumpet
Jason Dovel enjoys recreating the sound of Baroque music on period instruments. He enjoys playing both 3-hole and 4-hole vented replicas of natural trumpets, and his primary instrument is a 4-hole instrument made by Matt Martin at Norwich Natural Trumpets, after an original by Kodisch in 1710. He has performed with many early music groups in North America, including the Washington Bach Consort, Kentucky Bach, Mountainside Baroque, Virginia Baroque, Bourbon Baroque, and others. He also enjoys playing solo recitals on music for Baroque trumpet and organ. In 2018 he recorded the CD, Baroque Music for Trumpet and Organ, which is available on all major platforms.
